I was so thrilled to be chosen to do a review of the new Norton 360 2.0 put out by the makers of the popular Norton Anti-Virus software. I have had Norton anti-virus previously but was not a huge fan of it… but that was a few years ago and this is now.

As soon as I put it in I noticed a change. First, they have a completely different look which I really loved, and they had a ton of new features that I never knew existed on Norton. Second, it ran very quickly as compared to what I remember! But before we get into that let’s start with the setup

It was extremely quick and easy to get it set up. I just popped in the CD and before it installed the software it scanned my computer for potential problems. Let me preface this by saying that I only had the free anti-virus software by AVG, so I wasn’t exactly covered when I needed it the most. Before Norton even installed it, they fixed numerous problems that I had and didn’t even know about! Then before I knew it, it was installed and I was looking at a very user-friendly main window with features such as backups, PC Security, Identity Protection, and and PC Tuneup.

I started running through the different categories to see what they had to offer. I was like a kid in a candy store! I ran my backup which backed up my pictures, IE favorites, office documents, financial documents and a few other things. You get 2.0 GB of space in their online storage system, and unfortunately I had more than that, but you can change the storage options so I was able to store them on CDs so I could use them later which was fabulous!

Then I did a PC tuneup which basically scans the computer for temporary files, and does a disk optimization. I had over 10,000 temporary files that needed to be cleaned up! It was very quick while it did it, and now that I have been using it for a month, I realize that it runs automatically while my computer is idle so I never know it is doing it, but when I look at the details I have found thousands and thousands of deleted files… it’s great!!

Not to mention that all the scans take place when the computer is idle so that you hardly have any noticeable slowing as was a constant complaint from previous Norton users. It has never given me any trouble and it is so easy to use! There is so much more to Norton 360 2.0 as well but it would take me pages and pages to describe it all. The most important thing is that it takes care of viruses, spyware, and malware without ever letting you know what it does. That in itself is all I need! But still, the fact that it fills in your information, saves your passwords, backs up important documents, and does a whole bunch of other things is like icing on the cake!

I would absolutely seriously recommend this to anyone for anti-virus protection!
