Okay, so screw everything else I have always been addicted to – my newest addiction is definitely the Nintendo DS. I have been waiting, impatiently might I add, for my son to go to sleep every night so that I can play his DS. I swear, this thing is the coolest gadget ever! I used to have Game Boy and I remember loving it, but not to this extent. In 3 days I have almost completed the new Super Mario Bros – I’m only the last world already! That is some serious hours of play.

As for my son, he is still highly addicted himself. I agreed that he could have unlimited amount of play for just four days – it was a new Christmas toy and all ;) But starting today he would have to follow a strict 2 hour a day limit which I think is fair. I mean, he has yet to look at any of his other Christmas toys – nothing! We have unopened board games waiting to play, books to be read, Magnex things to play with, and tons of other stuff like Crayola art explosion and so much more. Yet, there they sit, under the tree, completely unopened because of his need to play the Nintendo DS. I have to put an end to that! And Shhhh…. that means it gives me more time to play! But he doesn’t realize that yet ;)

I now realize that I must get another one for myself, because you simply can’t play 2-player games on one machine. You must have two because then it can wirelessly pick up the other DS so that you can play together. It’s a great marketing ploy because they know you are going to end up getting two. In fact my friend Meredith had to get three – one for her, one for her husband and one for her son – so that they could all play together. It works great for things like Mario Kart and all the other fun games where you can have up to like 4 or even 8 people.

Anyhow, I’m totally saving my money because I REALLY want one all to myself. I mean, I need help fighting all the creatures in Zelda and if we both had one, I know I could find princess Zelda and own the world! Right? Oh my… Where is Nintendo DS anonymous when you need it!!!
