Who Watched It?

Now I know some of you didn’t see it (Facebook is so instaneous that I find out that stuff before I find it out here, lol), but who watched RHONJ last night?

I won’t spoil it for those who didn’t yet, but OMG was it good! I HATE Danielle… almost as much as I hated Kelly from RHONY! I couldn’t believe she had the balls to bring to the book to the party! And I couldn’t believe how Thersa reacted, lol… that was pure fun!

But do you know what ticks me off about it? The fact that there was only 6 episodes to the entire “series” and last night was the series finale. Boohoo :( For me, by far, that was the best out of all of them. I don’t know why, but it really entertained me far more than any of the other RHOOC.

And do you know what is starting just a few weeks way? Big Brother! Another one of my many reality TV addictions!

This week has been crazy so far… swimming class everyday, the gym every day and then tonight starts baseball. I still need to manage to find time to get ready for my trip on Saturday, and also find some time to work… because I got a huge job this past week! But huge jobs mean time, and time is something I am definitely lacking this week :-)

Bratty Behavior

Raise your hand if you watched the Celebrity Apprentice last night!

Holy Moley… did you see Melissa Rivers as she was booted off last night? Talk about being a brat!!!! She threw a tantrum worse than my 5 year old son would do… and you could tell by the way Joan stormed out that it was a learned behavior. What… because she was fired, she started running around like a freak, yelling at everyone and demanding her stuff like a 2 year old? Unbelievable!! Really, I was so stunned by her behavior.

I always wonder about celebrities being spoiled and getting what they want, and if they really act like that. Well, apparently yes… yes, some of them really do!

Sunday night has always been my indulgence TV night… of course I have the Amazing Race and then Celebrity Apprentice… and I have to say neither one of them failed to bring happiness to me yesterday :-) Added to that Real Housewives of New York City which I missed last Tuesday but got to see yesterday afternoon, and my weekend was complete. For you RHONY watchers – did you just die when Kelly showed up 2 hours later for her own party (which had a cash bar by the way!) and wondered where her “friends” were? Seriously? Who does that?

Selfish people do that… those who think their time is worth so much more than others drive me crazy. I have a friend who used to consistently be late for everything. I on the other hand am consistently punctual. Actually as my other friend put it… I am always on time to which I replied, actually I’m never on time – I’m early :-) Which is usually the case. If I feel like I’m going to be late for anything, I start to panic. It just isn’t in my nature to be late for everything, and with most of my friends, that puts me there early because 4 out of 5 of them never show up on time. Granted, it isn’t like it used to be with some showing up almost an hour late… which again, drove me INSANE!

All in all, besides TV, my weekend was pretty darn good! Hung out at a couple of bars on Saturday and watched good sports (Yankees Vs. Red Sox and the NFL draft) and played some pool. Always a great way to unwind!

Oh, and I won $12,000 on an online casino… but before I celebrate and start planning on all the bills I’m going to pay off, I want to make sure that I’m going to get paid :-) So, I’ll have to keep you all informed of that one!!!!!!! But to say that I’m uber excited about the possibility is truly an understatement… I just don’t want to jinx myself yet!

What did you all do this weekend?

2 Down… 20-something to go!

Last night my son lost his 2nd tooth. Not normally a huge event, but what made it so darn cute was that he literally “lost” it. We were over my friend Amy’s and my son and his friend Lava were playing in her room. I guess he pulled it out and it went flying out of his hand somewhere on the floor. I could tell he was a little worried that the tooth fairy wouldn’t come so Amy told him not to worry that the tooth fairy knew anyhow because she would look in his mouth. Just to make sure, he wanted to write a little note to her… This is what he came up with –

So cute!! In case you can’t read 5-year old English it says…

Dear Tooth Fairy,

My tooth fell out.

I just loved it… definitely one for the baby book! He didn’t want to sign his name because as he put it “Well, I’m the only one in bed so who else would have wrote it?” Common sense I suppose :-) The tooth fairy left $2.00 just because of the sheer cuteness and because he woke up in the middle of the night to ask me to call Amy to see if she found the tooth. I hadn’t put the money under the pillow yet so he was concerned. I LOVE this age!!

Catching Up on Reality…

Reality TV that is!

I realized last night that I watch at least one reality tv show per day… that is at least 7 per week, and more if they have some good marathons on weekends. I’m totally addicted! So, here is the lowdown on my personal favorites…

Dancing With the Stars – OMG, how much do you love Gilles? I truly didn’t think he stood a chance because of the fact that no one really knew him… at least I never had! I wish I knew him when I saw him in the Sex and the City movie (he was the next door beach neighbor of Samantha) just so I could drool over him a little more than I do now :-) His wife in real life? Completely gorgeous! I’m rooting for him or Melissa, although I think she has a totally unfair advantage being that she studied dance her whole life and was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader.

American Idol – What the heck were they thinking when they used the save on Matt? They are down to 6 for gawd’s sake… what happens if Allison or Danny are dropped next week? I mean, they are the ones that actually stand a chance of winning, not Matt! I feel for Lil’ Rounds, she is absolutley amazing but she has not made the most of this opportunity. She is slowly going downhill and I can’t figure out why. Her vocals are stunning but she keeps picking songs that make her sound like crap.

Hell’s Kitchen – I try, every season I try… I am growing increasingly annoyed with the way he treats the contestants. Gordon Ramsey may be a magnificent chef, but he is completely abusive to the contestants, and although that may have been “new” and “fun” when the show first started, it is no longer amusing in the least when you are calling people fat pigs and ugly bitches.

The Amazing Race - Still after something like 18 “seasons” I’m still as much in love with this show as I was in the beginning. To think that about 4 years ago they were actually going to cancel it! I’m loving Margie and her son (the deaf guy)… truly amazing what they can do in cities they have never been and in tasks that even the best of hearing people cannot even begin to comprehend.

Real Housewives of New York City – I love Bethenny and Jill, but the rest are driving me insane, which is of course why I love the show. I can’t get enough actually! Their pompous ways make me so happy to watch! Even better? I saw the preview of Real Housewives of New Jersey – HA! They put those New York women to shame ;) Can’t wait!

Deadliest Catch - Back on and better than ever! They had their season premiere the other day, and I couldn’t be happier! I don’t know what makes it so great to watch men fish in cold weather, but damn, this is by far one of the best reality shows on tv!

Finally… The Biggest Loser – In my top 3 for favorite of all time. A friend said to me just the other day “Why bother watching it if you don’t lose weight?” Well, the reasons are endless… It is so inspiring to see people accomplish their goals in a way that incorporates learning and hard work. It doesn’t matter if it is losing weight, opening up your own business, or even making mundane changes in your life. This is a family show that really takes the good and the bad and makes it a spectacular program to watch. You are really rooting for these people, even if you hate them (think last season!), and even though you may want them eliminated, you still want them to succeed in losing weight, and that is one of the best things to watch.

What a Day!

I have to say, for a Tuesday, yesterday was A-okay in my book!

I was a bad mother though… but that isn’t exactly anything new :-) Monday was a double happy day… I got my Wii AND fresh from the Nintendo factory, I got my sons Nintendo DS back with all working parts! I sent it out because it fell under the 90 day warranty period so they decided that they were going to fix it – FREE! So, Monday when my doorbell rang and I had a package at my door, I wasn’t sure what it was. Turned out they fixed it in just 1 day and all is well with the world :-) If he thinks he is going to get it back, he is sadly mistaken, but I had a great time with it. Added to that, I hooked up my Wii and Wii fit and spent a great night playing all sorts of games.

Oh, so why was I a bad mother? Because we had so much fun Monday night that yesterday my son and I decided to take a Wii family day, lol.

No school, no work… we just stayed home and played the Wii all day. I rarely let my son take off any time from school, unless of course he is sick (which isn’t very often) so we decided to enjoy our own little wellness day, complete with going out to breakfast (also something we rarely do!). What a great time! Let me tell you – he kicked my ass in boxing. He KO’d me THREE times! I came back in bowling, although I lost to him in that as well a few times.

Now today? Can’t move my arms. Truly. My arms, my thighs, and my abs are all incredibly sore – what a great workout!

Then of course last night was great TV night. American Idol, Biggest Loser, SVU, Real Housewives of New York City… I was like a kid in a candy store. What was up with “Ring of Fire” by Adam? Seriously??? He is just weird. I missed a few singers in between flipping back and forth to Biggest Loser, but I saw Danny whom I love, but Lil’ left a little to be desired as well. All in all, it was an okay night though for singing. I’m not a huge fan of country music night anyhow, although I’m starting to come around. I just didn’t like many of their song selections. I’m more of a pop-country girl. What did you all think of AI last night?

How Could I Have Lived Without It?

Yesterday I found what I think is truly one of the most hysterical, ridiculous, yet utterly captivating television shows on right now.

The Real Housewives of New York City.

I have watched Real Housewives of Orange County and generally hated it. I have seen a few episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta and although I tolerated it, I never really bonded with it. But Real Housewives of New York City? Pure genius! Maybe it is because I’m a northerner, maybe it’s because I know a few of “those type” of women, and perhaps it is just because I love gossipy, elitist women.. who the heck knows, but I was hooked! With like 4 hours in a row on Bravo, I caught up on some of the lives of these six women – two of which I truly dislike – and I found it amazing that there are actually people who live like these women do. Big apartments in the city, even bigger houses in the Hamptons, too much free time, and mouths like truck drivers. My kind of show!

So, while I was laying in bed indulging my reality tv fix, what did you do this weekend?

Is this sad or what?

I watch HGTV every night… it is a habit I can’t quite break, even though I don’t own a house, and I’m not remodeling, and I really have no money to implement all the cool changes that they do to the houses.

Which leads me to the sad part – omg – I’m totally jealous of the people who get to go house hunting on House Hunters! Even worse? House Hunters International. I don’t know why I put myself through it really – I’m completely jealous of the fact that they get to buy a house and I don’t, lol. Now, that is sad!

So – who watched AI tonight? I totally thought Danny and Lil Rounds rocked, and of course I voted for both! They are absolutely my favorites to go to the end. Who did you like?
